opposites and harmony...
we search for harmony in a design but use opposing elements to strengthen the antithesis -  incorporating their individual positive qualities. While designing we consider opposites. take silence, for example, without sound silence has no beginning or end. thus we consider  silence / noise  light / shade, lightness / weight, elegance / robustness and contained / uncontained.
Once the design is executed the legacy will be a ‘piece’ an  ‘architecture’ that will provide the backdrop for a community/family that can continue to add a contemporary breath of life to the building and its setting.
